Our Story

Founded by two lifelong coffee enthusiasts, Bean There, Shipped That was born from a shared trip to Jinja in 2025.

Witnessing the passion of smallholder cooperatives inspired us to build a bridge—uniting their clean-processed harvests with roasters across North America.

Passion for Coffee, Committed to Quality

At Bean There, Shipped That, we don't just see coffee as a drink—we believe it's an entire experience, a journey from seed to cup that connects communities across continents. From our base right here in Calgary, Alberta, we're passionately committed to transforming Canada's dynamic specialty coffee market.

Our approach is deeply rooted in direct, ethical sourcing. We specialize in importing premium, fully traceable green Arabica and Robusta coffee beans directly from ethical smallholder cooperatives in Uganda. This isn't just a business model; it's a philosophy. By forging equitable partnerships with these dedicated farmers, we ensure they receive fair compensation for their hard work and exceptional beans. This direct relationship also means we can guarantee the unparalleled quality and full traceability of every lot we bring in.

Our core mission is clear: to consistently provide Canadian roasters with high-quality, microlot-grade coffee that stands out. We carefully select beans known for their unique flavour profiles, consistent quality, and the story they tell. By choosing Bean There, Shipped That, Canadian roasters aren't just getting coffee; they're gaining access to a transparent supply chain, supporting sustainable practices, and ultimately, offering their customers a truly exceptional and ethically produced coffee experience. We're here to bridge the gap between discerning Canadian roasters and the incredible, often overlooked, coffee-growing communities of Uganda.
